The NEET 2025 merit list includes key information such as candidate name, NEET roll number, AIR, category rank, score, and qualifying status. Verifying these details is crucial before proceeding to the counselling rounds.
The 15% AIQ merit list is prepared by NTA and includes candidates from across India eligible for admission to medical colleges outside their home states. The National Testing Agency (NTA) prepares and releases three types of NEET 2025 merit lists, one of which is exclusively meant for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Only those candidates who meet the NEET 2025 cutoff criteria will be considered eligible for inclusion in this list.
The NEET 2025 counselling and admission process play a vital role for candidates aiming to secure seats under the AIQ category. The NTA coordinates this process, which includes the submission of a self-declaration form by certain candidates. The counselling for AIQ seats will be conducted solely on the basis of the All India Quota rank secured by the candidate.
Once finalized, the NTA forwards the AIQ merit list to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), and the Government of India. This procedure is particularly important for candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who are required to submit a self-declaration form during the NEET 2025 counselling. On the other hand, candidates from Jammu and Kashmir must follow a separate set of documentation guidelines as per the official counselling norms.
In case two or more candidates secure the same score in NEET 2025, a well-defined tie-breaking policy will be applied to determine their ranking. The criteria will be followed in the sequence below:
Candidates with higher marks or percentile scores in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be given a higher rank.
If the tie still exists, those with better scores in Chemistry will be prioritized.
Next, candidates with higher marks or percentiles in Physics will be considered.
If the tie remains, the candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct responses across all subjects will be ranked higher.
Specifically for Biology, candidates with fewer incorrect answers in proportion to correct ones will be given preference.
If needed, the same ratio-based evaluation will be applied to Chemistry.
Finally, if the tie is still not broken, the candidate with a lower incorrect-to-correct answer ratio in Physics will be placed higher.
The previous year’s NEET cut-off scores indicate the minimum marks required for admission in various categories. Reviewing them helps aspirants estimate their chances of getting into preferred colleges based on their current scores.
