The eligibility criteria for the NEET exam are 12th pass with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and the age limit is 17 years.

How To Apply For NEET UG 2026 Exam? 

Candidates should follow the steps to fill out the registration form for the NEET exam. 

Step 1: Online Registration: Click "New Registration" on the homepage.

  • Enter basic details (Name, Mother's/Father's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile, and Email).

  • Generate a unique Application Number and password via OTP verification.

Step 2: Aadhaar eKYC (Mandatory):  Log in and authenticate your identity using your Aadhaar Number.

  • An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number for verification.

Step 3: Fill Application Form: Enter personal, educational (Class 10, 11, 12), and residential details.

  • Select your preferred Medium of Question Paper (13 languages available).

  • Choose 4 Exam Cities (restricted to your present/permanent address state).

Step 4: Live Photo Capture: Capture a real-time photograph using a webcam or by scanning the provided QR code with your smartphone.

  • Ensure a white background and 80% face visibility.

Step 5: Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your signature, thumb impressions, and any required certificates (Category/PwBD/Class 10).

Step 6: Fee Payment:  Pay the application fee online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.

Step 7: Download Confirmation Page: Once the payment is successful, download and print the Confirmation Page.

The NEET 2026 Application Fee should be paid to finally submit the registration form through the online mode itself. 

  • General: ₹1,700

  • General-EWS / OBC-NCL: ₹1,600

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender: ₹1,000

  • Foreign Nationals: ₹ 9500

NEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

NEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria covers nationality, age limits, and educational qualifications, ensuring that all applicants fulfil the requirements set by the NTA.

Nationality

Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Foreign Nationals are all eligible to apply for NEET UG 2026.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2026, to be eligible for NEET UG 2026. There is currently no upper age limit for appearing in the examination, as per the Supreme Court's order.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed their 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. For minimum marks in the qualifying exam, General category candidates need 50%, while OBC/SC/ST candidates require 40%, and PwD candidates need 45%. Candidates who are appearing for their qualifying examination in 2025 are also eligible to apply for NEET UG 2026.
