Step 1: Visit the official website of IDP or the British Council.
Step 2: Click on the 'IELTS Results' section.
Step 3: Enter the details, i.e., Passport/ID number, candidate number, and date of birth.
Step 4: Click on ‘Submit’ to view the result.
Step 5: Candidates can also get notified via email (mainly for computer-based test takers).

After receiving the IELTS result, candidates are required to its desired universities. Candidates can do this either while registering for the exam or after they’ve received their scores. Below is are step-by-step process to send IELTS exam results to universities:

Step 3: Choose a Delivery Mode.
Step 4: Submit the Form to Your Test Center.

IDP IELTS now offers the IELTS One Skill Retake option. This allows candidates to retake just one section, i.e., Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking, within 60 days of their original test date. This option is ideal for those who performed well overall but wish to improve a specific skill. Candidates will receive a new Test Report Form (TRF) that shows the updated score for the retaken section, along with the original scores for the other three skills. This option is available for both Academic and General Training formats at selected computer-delivered test centers. Please note that the fee for this service may vary, so it is best to check with your local test center for further details.
IELTS score is valid for two years from the date of your test. During this period, candidates send their scores to as many universities or institutions as needed. After the two-year mark, the scores expire and cannot be used further. If candidates still require an IELTS score after that, they will need to retake the exam.
IELTS scorecards can be downloaded electronically once released. They are not sent additionally by post or email. It’s important to store the score report safely for future use.
If candidates did not achieve their desired IELTS score or want to improve it, they have the option to retake the exam. There is no limit on how many times candidates can reappear. To book a retest, visit the official IELTS website, choose the preferred test center, and pay the exam fee, currently INR 18,000 in India.
