Mercer University

Founded in 1833 by Georgia Baptists, Mercer University holds a rich history deeply rooted in its Baptist origins. Led by the visionary Baptist minister Adiel Sherwood, the institution was named after Jesse Mercer, a prominent figure in Baptist leadership. Over the decades, Mercer has evolved into a prestigious institution offering a diverse array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. Today, with a total enrollment of 8,759 students, Mercer University stands as a dynamic center of education, encompassing 12 schools and colleges that cater to a wide range of disciplines, including liberal arts, law, engineering, business, and health sciences.
