Established in 1898 as Decatur Baptist College, Dallas Baptist University (DBU) embarked on a pioneering journey in Texas education, emerging as the state's inaugural two-year junior college. Over the decades, DBU evolved, relocating to Dallas in 1965 and subsequently transforming into Dallas Baptist College. By 1968, it had attained senior college status, solidifying its commitment to higher education, and by 1970, it proudly offered four-year degree programs, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey. The institution formally adopted its current name in 1985, a reflection of its enduring dedication to excellence and service.
