About the University
Initially known as the Winnipeg Technical College, the name changed to Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology on June 12, 2014. The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology was established to provide education and training in various trades and technology fields. It aims to meet the needs of both students and the industry by offering programs that lead to meaningful employment opportunities.
MITT provides certificate, post-graduate, and diploma-level technical training for career-oriented post-secondary and secondary students in six clusters of specialization: skilled trades, design and manufacturing technologies, applied business, information and communication technology, health care, and human services.
MITT is a leading provider of continuing education opportunities through its Lifelong Learning Institute and offers several unique pathway programs for adult and language learners, including the English Language Institute, ESL for qualifying newcomers to Canada, and one of Manitoba’s largest Adult Learning Centre networks.
